Applicants for the doctoral internship must have completed all course requirements for the doctoral degree prior to beginning their doctoral internship. The doctoral degree must be from an APA/CPA-accredited program or from a regionally accredited institution of higher education. They must also have a minimum of 400 practicum hours, with 25 being in psychological assessment.
Applicants must submit a completed APPIC Application for Psychology Internship (AAPI) online by November 10. Applications can be accessed from the APPIC website. Georgia Tech appointments conform to a variety of requirements, including legal eligibility for employment in the U.S. (sometimes called the I-9 requirement) and a background check that verifies that educational credentials are valid and that candidates have no criminal or other record that would preclude employment in the Institute's judgment. A drug screening must also be passed. These are conducted following the APPIC Match, but the outcome of these background checks have the potential to preclude appointment.
