Introducing the Georgia Tech Mental Health Ally (MHA) program! The MHA program, developed by the Center for Mental Health Care and Resources (CMHCR), is for students who are looking for ways to be proactive and engaged in maintaining their own mental health and in sharing campus resource knowledge with other students. These students are also seeking to improve their resilience capacity and sustain their daily well-being.
Benefits of Being a Mental Health Ally
- Actively participate in creating a mentally healthy campus through direct education and experiential learning
- Dialogue and build community around issues of mental health and well-being
- Learn about available mental health and wellness resources
- Share your knowledge with peers and associate with clinical staff
What to Expect
Students can sign up for an MHA orientation with CMHCR staff to learn about mental health services and resources including counseling, referrals, and upcoming events. After the orientation, students will be able to assist as volunteers alongside counselors on community-oriented outreach and tabling activities. Those who participate will receive a T-shirt and a certificate, as well as receiving other giveaways from the program.
