Artistic Expression Therapy Group
Wednesday: 11:30 AM – 1:00 PM

This group will provide opportunities for participants to utilize artistic expression to develop creative problem-solving, emotional expression, and coping skills. Through weekly art prompts and using a range of mixed media, group members will create independent projects and collaborate on projects with others. This is a group for any level of artistic skill or interest.
Graduate Men's Group
Friday: 10:00 AM – 11:30 AM

This group provides Georgia Tech men (graduate students) the opportunity to discuss a range of topics in their lives. Common topics include dealing with the pressures and expectations related to being a man in our society, academic/career concerns, managing anger and other emotions and communicating effectively in relationships.
Graduate Women's Group

A group that allows GT graduate student women to connect with others around personal, academic and relationship issues.
Grief and Loss
Monday: 2:00 PM – 3:30 PM
Contact: Mack Bowers
Grief is a normal human response to loss that can bring complicated emotions. It can be healing to share these feelings with people who are going through the same grief process. This group is for students who are dealing with the loss of a loved one. Group members will be offered a safe space for expression, reflection, exploration, as well as support for coping with the loss.
Journey in Healing
Wednesday: 12:00 PM - 1:30 PM

This group is open to women-identified Georgia Tech students who are survivors of sexual assault or relationship violence during their teen/adult years. This group will offer support, psychoeducation, and collective empowerment. Weekly topics are chosen by the participants and related to recovery, the reestablishment of safety, healing, coping, and self-care. The focus of the group is to provide safety, connection, education, support, and to model relationship building.
International Student Support Group
Wednesday: 12:00 PM - 1:30 PM

Coming to the United States to study can be an exciting adventure and an opportunity for tremendous growth. At the same time, adjusting to new social and academic cultures can pose several challenges. This support group will provide a place for international students at GA Tech to discuss their strengths and challenges, review pertinent issues, and find encouragement and support to increase adjustment to life in the US. The group is open to undergraduate and graduate international students at GA Tech.
Mind Over Mood
Wednesday: 2:00 PM – 3:30 PM

This group will help participants better understand the relationship between thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. In addition, participants will be able to identify common problematic thought patterns, as well as learn concepts and skills to modify the thought patterns that cause negative moods and anxiety.
Overcoming Social Anxiety
Tuesday: 3:00 PM – 4:30 PM

Overcoming Social Anxiety group provides you with a new way of understanding anxiety and gives you an opportunity to build social confidence in a structured and time-limited setting. Group members will develop specific techniques to improve the quality of their social interactions. Homework between sessions promotes new skills and independence.
RPG Therapy Group
Monday: 2:00 PM – 3:30 PM

Role-playing games (RPG) like Dungeons & Dragons (D&D), Pathfinder, and Quest allow participants to take on the persona of fictional characters and to complete daring adventures across mysterious worlds. This therapy group takes core elements of these games and a creative playful approach to challenge clients to set goals that will improve their behavior, attitude, and mindset in the real world.
Strive & Thrive: Academic Support and Accountability Group
Tuesday: 10:00 AM – 11:30 AM

The group provides space for weekly check-ins, setting SMART goals, building healthier academic habits, and practicing supportive, non-judgmental accountability with peers who share similar goals. We will explore emotional and behavioral barriers to academic productivity, including burnout, harsh self-criticism, perfectionism, imposter syndrome, and other life stressors. Strategies for improving focus, increasing self-compassion, and enhancing overall academic and personal well-being will be explored throughout the group.
Thesis Support Group
Monday: 10:00 AM – 11:30 AM

This group provides a supportive environment for doctoral students to address the academic, professional, and personal challenges involved in completing a doctoral thesis. Common topics include maintaining work/life balance, staying motivated in the face of obstacles, setting achievable goals, and working effectively with one’s advisor.
Understanding Self and Others
These groups provide opportunities for students to discuss issues and concerns that create stumbling blocks to success. These groups examine relationships, communication styles, stress management, and general life concerns. In addition, there is a focus on the “process” or dynamic that plays out between group members, which allows members to provide and receive feedback, as well as process their reactions to other group members. There are a number of therapy groups that are offered at various times.
